My name is Dave.

By day, I work as an enterprise architect in the field of information technology (doesn't everyone?) for "a major Telecommunications company". That's part of the reason for the name of this sight - as an architect, I regularly have to argue for and assure compliance with corporate standards - whether they make sense or not. If you like light piano classic jazz, then you might want to consider making a purchase. We figured out a long time ago that nobody's gonna get rich selling "light piano jazz" CDs on the internet. But if you haven't figured that out yet, let me just remind you that Christmas music makes a great Christmas gift! - or maybe you know that budding pianist and are looking for an unusual gift that "not everybody has" - at least not yet. By the way - when I'm not playing Christmas jazz piano, I typically favor the older jazz 'standards' (there's that name again).

Alas - if piano jazz isn't your cup of tea, there are other things to see here. Politics is an interest of mine. Maybe I should phrase that better. "Policy" is an interest of mine - specifically smart policy. So, if you like opinions, look at my blog. My opinions are my own. You're free to agree or disagree - I'm not trying to convince anybody. I opine - you decide.

Other passions include my family, our two dogs (highly intelligent 'standard' poodles), ornamental ponds / water gardens, NYTimes crossword puzzles, smart people, and Doing Things. More on this later.

In case you're interested, I do hold a PhD in Chemical Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, so I guess that makes me a member of the academic liberal elite, tho in some cases I hold distinctly conservative views.

This website employs WordPress and is designed around the Luna theme. I prefer themes that are clean, somewhat sparse, support widgets, and work well with the newer versions of WordPress, (particularly with new and improved implementation of Permalinks). Generally, tho - I'm not content with something until I've hacked it myself, and that's true for this theme - "Luna."
